Soo this is my second Loot Crate, and I can’t seem to type today, so bear with me here… This Loot Crate had me more intrigued than the first one, based off of the theme (Play Vs. Covert). Covert Ops, Spies, Ninjas, and anything to do with this kind of genre always sparks my interests. I have also included my unboxing video down at the bottom if you would like to see each item (Also shown in the photo above).
Opening up the Loot Crate right off the top we have a White T-Shirt that is a hommage to James Bond. It has the gun barrel around a gentleman in a white Tux holding a martini, a classic 007 drink. In text it says “This is Stirred…” which is unfortunate and not what Bond would want. This is a pretty sweet shirt to add to my closet and will definitely be wearing this (probably a lot, haha).
Next up we have the pure black wrist watch for stealthy encounters, but with the push of a button the time will nicely display itself onto the front. The watch is pretty cool, but it’s a watch and doesn’t really do anything cool except the way the time blinks onto the front. A cool exclusive (unless you can get something like this anywhere), but nothing to write home about for anyone above a certain age getting this Loot. And be warned it is not water proof because if water gets underneath it can go under into the rubber. I kind of experimented and took the main electronic out of the rubber band to see how this thing ticks. So don’t submerge it in water or expect that you can rely on it if you find yourself diving into a body of water to save yourself from villains.
Moving on and taking note of some other items, the Loot Crate contained 2 Field notebooks in case you need to write anything down while you are out on a covert ops. One has regular lined paper, while the other one has graph lined paper. One thing that this Loot Crate lacked which would have gone perfectly with this, is some kind of Spy Pen. An Agent who is holding a pen, is probably holding a deadly weapon they can use to get out of any sticky situation. Besides the missing pen, the notebooks can be utilized with notes and doodles. [I actually was in my car and had a pen, but needed somewhere to write. This seems like it could be handy to keep one around in my vehicle :D]
Jumping forward we have the Paracord, which is essentially the rope used in accordance with a Parachute. This is actually really cool because of the things you could do with one of these if you ever found yourself in a tight situation where something of a string/rope variety can save your life. Like if you were in the middle of the woods and needed some kind of snare, you could do that. It is kind of cool that this Loot Crate came with one because it is themed to match the orange/black and has the Loot Crate logo that wraps around it. Now I can add this with my Call of Duty: Ghosts Paracord (which actually has a heavier duty rope used, so good for you Ghosts, doing something not so bad…).
A lanyard. Well when I grabbed the next item, it was in a little baggy, but I could tell it was a lanyard. So I looked to grab the next item which appeared to be in a special wrapping to keep it safe because it was an Exclusive item; linking it to Marvel’s Agents of Shield. It was a blank ID badge that was really shiny and cool. So now the lanyard appears to have purpose. It holds the ID badge so I can get myself into some secure locations. I knew there was going to be an exclusive from the show based on the prior emails, but wasn’t sure what to expect. Not sure I was expecting it, but because it is a collector’s item and one that you probably can’t just get your hands on (I am assuming, but feel free to tell me otherwise), so because of this, this item is pretty awesome! However looking at cool stuff on the show and the things that could have been, this was also kind of a let down. 🙁
Wanna hear something funny? Well then the next item might just do that. Spy Mad Libs. Hilarious game of words and sentences spun to the theme of Spies. This item being pretty simple is actually one of the better items because it has more practical use in an everyday situation, plus it provides people with some good chuckles. Laughter is the best medicine right? Can’t wait to fill up the pages with some humour and also probably with words that didn’t quite connect.
I don’t know how to move along to the next item smoothly. I need text transitions. So let’s move forward to the Ninjak #1 Digital Download. This is something that is pretty cool, but I honestly don’t know if it is something I will use/read. I have enough on my schedule and wish I had time to do everything, but I don’t. In due time with a child on the way, I will have even less time. So for anyone who may be interested in this code let me know. There are tons of ways to contact me such as the contact button up top, the side bar —> also has tons of options at the top (down below on mobile). Maybe give me a Follow on Twitter and/or Twitch while you are at it :D. If the code has been given, I will update this as soon as I can, but I will also give anyone a reply if the code is not available anymore and you contacted me. If I get more then one email around the same time I will probably just pick one at random (and this is where I get you to actually give me a follow to be entered into what was once a giveaway, but is now a random draw).
My next item I pulled out was unfortunately hit with some collateral damage and has a line cut through the back. I am not going to blame anyone or discourage anything because of this because I am sure if I contacted Loot Crate with this they would probably send me another one? It just seems a hassle because it’s not all that noticeable and I am not looking for any resale value or collector value for this item. Orphan Black. I haven’t had a chance to look through it yet, but it is a nice little book to add to the Crate. Sometimes though, I think they have a hard time trying to find what to add that won’t be too expensive, but still adds value to the Loot Crate. Not much I can say about this “Orphan Black” other then when I saw it in the camera reflection/far away with light shining on it and I thought it was called “Orpian Black” or something like that haha. The “H” was split because the horizontal line was really tiny and hard to see.
Finally we have the default items that I think come with every Loot Crate (this is only my second Loot Crate) is the Pin and the Booklet. Each theme has it’s own pin (which is cool, I like pins) and a booklet based on the theme and info about this month’s Loot + the Mega Crate.
All in all I liked this one better then the last and already have more use with these items. I have worn the T-Shirt a few times and have worn the watch off and on, with people asking me about it. They also think it is pretty cool, so I guess this item is more potential than I originally gave it credit for. I always like to write random things down and one of these books could be carried around with me for this purpose, while the other can probably go in my car (as I mentioned above). Trying to compare this month’s Loot Crate to last month’s Loot Crate, I think I would say this one is better, for me at least. I have only gotten 2 thus far though, so I don’t have any others to compare to. Looking at Past Loot Crates though there are some things I liked, so it seems like a hit and miss for contents. Everyone likes different things though.
Here is my unboxing video:
P.S. Hopefully I can film a better unboxing for next month’s Loot Crate after I move, which the theme for it is “Fantasy”. So if you like things of this genre (Rogues, Paladins, Wizards, Sorcery or Game of Thrones, Dungeons & Dragons, and The Princess Bride) then make sure to sign up for Aprils’ Loot Crate!
